There are many categories of wine, and even if the classification is simple you will still feel confused

There are many types of wine. Even if you are a beginner, you should know something about wine classification.
1. By color, they are as follows
Red wines (made from red grapes). The color of the grape skins determines the color of the wine. Therefore, grapes with yellow or green skins cannot be used to make red wine. Only grapes with dark red skins can make red wine.

Pink wines (made from short maceration of red grape skins). The pink color of pink wine is the result of contact between the grape juice and the darker skin. Sometimes, light-skinned and dark-skinned grape varieties can be blended to produce pink wines.
For white wines (red grapes with skins removed/white grapes made), light-skinned grapes can only be used for white wines. Some white wines are intentionally made with extended skin contact to produce “orange wines”.

2. Classification by body
Lighter wines, meaning lighter in color and with fewer tannins, such as Muscat, Albariño, and Pinot Grigio.
Medium-sized wines are slightly heavier in color than lighter wines and have a heavier taste. Typical examples are Gramerlo, Tempranillo and Diegeo Vesey.
The wines are full-bodied, with deep color and rich tannins, such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, Shiraz, etc.

3、Category according to the winemaking process
Still wines, pure wines, wines without extra alcohol and spices.
Sparkling wines with residual oxygen bubbles, representing French champagne.
Fortified wines: Brandy or other neutral wines are added during the winemaking process. Generally, wines with high alcohol content, such as port and sherry.
Aromatized wines, such as vermouth, are made by adding aromatic plants to the wine and steeping it overnight.

4. Grape Harvesting Classification
Ordinary wines are made from naturally harvested grapes.
Late harvest, where the grapes are harvested a few days late to allow for a higher concentration of glucose, usually on the trees where the grapes are air-dried.
Expensive rotten wines delay the harvest and infect the grapes with expensive rotting fungi, which produce very high sugar concentrations. The resulting wine has honey and fruit aromas and a sweeter taste.

Because there are so many categories of wine, even if you know the simple categories, you will still be confused about the choice of wine grades and their advantages and disadvantages.

There are many standards for classifying red wines around the world, such as the French and Italian red wine classes, wines from legal regions, wines from excellent regions, wines from regional production, wines for everyday consumption, etc.

They are also more difficult to choose from. Consumers need to have a good understanding of English or French, and it is difficult to distinguish between the various ranges. The wine classification of Remsen red wines is very simple, with various numbers starting from 1-9. 1 has a low price, 9 has a high price, and the price classification of red wines is based on 8 price ranges, making it very easy to choose.
